Our Story
The Masseria Rosella has been around since the late 1800`s when the first generation of Petrillo’s built this working farm.
Nestled in the rolling hills of the southern Italian region of Irpinia, about 1 hour inland from Naples. We are just under half way between the east and west coast of the Italian boot. A rare find – a slice of the real Italy. Our small but beautiful estate grow the best produce such as tomatoes, aubergines, the juiciest olives and the finest Aglianico grapes.
Nearly 200 years later, the current generation of Petrillo`s are proud to be the current guardians of this estate, look after the land and preserve it for future generations to come.
Welcome to our home, welcome to Irpinia.

Architecture and Interior Design
The renovation undertaken by the family over the last five years has been focused on keeping the original character of the building and adding a new extension that keeps the line of natural materials flowing.
The local white stone has been revealed under the plaster on the outside walls and also inside. Historical features such alcoves were preserved as much as possible including the original wooden beams throughout the house.
Inside the house we have used natural materials throughout and fused together the original features such as stone with polished cement flooring and solid wood. Local crafts people have been used to make the solid doors and tables for example.
Furnishings are put together from both Italian and international designers to encourage a feeling of calm, relaxation and an overall welcoming space where you can read a book, enjoy a glass of wine or learn to make a Pizza.
